Doug Danger, Evel, Elvis & Sinatra

Our featured stunt cyclists, Doug Danger and Louis “Rocket” Re, just returned from their pilgrimage to Butte, Montana for Evel Knievel’s fireworks funeral.

Their reflections on their personal hero and friend are in today’s Springfield Republican newspaper.

Traveling back from the funeral to the airport, Doug told the newspaper that the pomp and circumstance of Evel’s farewell lived up to Elvis standards:

“He always lived his life in fashion and style, first class. He went out the same way,” Senecal said. “It was like when Elvis died. It was absolutely beautiful how they did everything.”

Apparently, they also played Frank Sinatra’s “My Way,” during the funeral procession.

That happens to be “Doug’s song” whenever he hosts Karaoke Night at his Danger Saloon sports bar.
